Viewing Post for: Inca Trail 2018

Date: Saturday, July 28
Location: Phuyupatmarca, 16 km, 11,000 ft.

Cold now, 32 degrees tonight, was warm duri g the day. BIG DAY! This is a day we will remember the rest of our lives.  2 big passes, high altitude. Long distance.  And what views! The end of the day is topped off with 21,000 foot giant, Saltkantay. Hugely white.  Gleeming above what is now jungle here.  We passed a number of spectacular Inca Sites.  Most were plenty pleased to get to camp right as the sun set. Forgot to mention the moonrise last night. It was a full moon right over the ridge of the mts in the distance.  People are relieved now they know they made the hike.  We are all looking forward to seeing Machu Pichu tomorrow. And then showers, drinks and a bed. Thank you for writing us.

It appears that the "wall huggers" made it through just fine. We are looking forward to you having email access again. Everything is fine here.
