  • Traveling during the shoulder season means less people. It will be cold in the mountains but pleasant in the Sahara.

The first part of the trip focuses on exploring the beautiful valleys and villages of the Atlas Mountains and  climbing to the summit of North Africa's highest peak, Jebel Toubkal (4,167m). Travel from the ancient walled city of Marrakech to the high Atlas Mountains, enjoying traditional Berber hospitality as we make our ascent. From the summit enjoy panoramic views across the entire Atlas chain toward the Sahara Desert, which is our next destination.

The second portion will take us through the desert from Imil to Erg Chebbi. We will drive the route over several days, allowing us time to see the sites and take short excursions. There are so many things to see and do, including camel trekking and a night stay in a deep Sahara desert camp. At the hotel at the foothills of Erg Chebbi dunes, we can enjoy a cup of tea, see nomads living in caves, wander through palms with a local guide, and hike in Dades Valley. It will be a striking contrast to the week before.

Sign up early, as the trip is limited to 10 people.
