DESCRIPTION:
If you are an outdoor lover with an interest in history this is one adventure
you don't want to miss! This multi-activity trip is designed to give you
a sample of all the best mainland Greece has to offer. After meeting up
with your guides in Athens you'll start your trip with a personal sightseeing
tour of the city. Walk backwards in time as you visit both the site of
the 2004 Olympic games and the stadium of the first Olympics along with
other famous Athenian monuments. From there we'll continue our adventure
into history with a trip to the traditional town of Nafplio in Peloponese.
For those feeling particularly spry, you can bound up the 999 steps to
Palamidi Castle. We will then move on to the real adventure which includes
treks through breathtaking scenery, paddling on crystal clear waters,
feeling the rush of flowing rivers, and rappelling down beautiful gorges.
As if that wasn't enough, between activities you'll also have the chance
to wander the streets of picturesque towns, visit fortresses and castles
and marvel at the architectural wonder of some amazing monasteries. Throughout
it all our local guide will point the way to some tasty Greek fare and
leave us in the evenings to put our feet up in our comfortable accommodations.
